If At First You Don’t Succeed: Live Blogging the Republican Presidential Debate

The Republican presidential candidates will return to the debate stage on Tuesday, December 15, and as he did about six weeks ago, The Curmudgeon will attempt an experiment: he will blog live during the debate.

When he tried this before it went, well, so-so: he had a blast but participation was…light.

Undaunted, he will try again.

Nine candidates will participate in the main debate: Trump, Carson, Cruz, Rubio, Bush, Kasich, Christie, Fiorina, and Paul. The other candidates – Pataki, Santorum, Huckabee, and Graham – have been assigned to the children’s table and will debate a few hours earlier.

So assuming he can find a live feed of the debate, which is being broadcast by CNN – and if he doesn’t, he’s going to look awfully foolish –The Curmudgeon cordially invites you to join him on Tuesday evening, December 15 at 8:30 as we watch the debate together and, ideally, comment together on what we see and hear.

The moderator is CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, so we can be pretty sure the bar will be set low with more questions about politics than policy and numerous attempts to ask the kind of stupid questions that force competitors to put the CNN logo on their air.

The Curmudgeon will certainly be commenting – he’s seldom at a loss for an opinion – and he hopes some of you will, too.

Or will at least be watching.
